Campaign Chairs

Live UnitedEmployee Campaign Chairs and Leadership Giving Chairs are integral parts of running a workplace campaign.

What is an Employee Campaign Chair (ECC)?

The Employee Campaign Chair is responsible for planning, organizing and implementing a United Way workplace campaign at his/her organization with the assistance of a designated United Way staff member.

ECC Responsibilities

  • Attend one training workshop
  • Recruit coworkers to help plan and implement campaign events, such as meetings and special fundraisers
  • Work closely with United Way staff to establish fundraising and/or participation goals, timeline and execution of campaign
  • Coordinate with Leadership Giving Chair (LGC) and United Way staff on a leadership event
  • Collect donations and secure confidential gift documentation
  • Calculate total amount raised, give pledge form copies to donors and coordinate a pickup with United Way staff member in a timely manner
  • Thank committee members and employees for all their work in creating a better community for all

What is a Leadership Giving Chair (LGC)?

The Leadership Giving Chair is responsible for working with the ECC to bring special attention to Leadership Giving and enhance the overall success of the campaign.

LGC Responsibilities

  • Attend one training workshop
  • Work closely with United Way staff to analyze leadership giving trends and to help identify potential leadership givers within the organization
  • Collaborate with the CEO or senior level management to plan a leadership event
  • Coordinate with United Way staff member to identify appropriate guest speaker for leadership event
  • Share information on United Way’s affinity groups, including Atlantic Circle, Women United, Builders Society and Tocqueville Society
  • Thank committee members and employees for creating a better community for all
